Creating Opportunity
The KJS Legacy Project Project is dedicated to creating opportunities for future public servants. Already, Kevin Sutherland’s legacy has inspired multiple avenues for providing educational opportunities as well as real-world experiences for young people that can lead to meaningful careers in government and public advocacy. We seek to create new opportunities while expanding support for those that are already underway.
Amercan University Scholarships
The Sutherland family established the endowed Kevin Joseph Sutherland Memorial Scholarship Fund to support students pursuing careers in public service through the School of Public Affairs.
American University Internships
Kevin’s employer, New Blue Interactive, established the Kevin Sutherland Endowed Internship Fund to support students serving low-paid internships on Capitol Hill and other federal government departments.
